Beginner Longsword – This class is your introduction to HEMA (Historical European Martial Arts) this class will cover the basics of longsword fighting as done in period. The techniques used are from 14th-century to 16th-century fighting manuals. The weapons are historically accurate. This course will cover footwork, cuts, thrusts, parries, bind work, grappling with swords, and more.
Longsword Mondays – A lesson from the texts followed by drill work. Class ends with 15 minutes of sparring. The main sources used are from Johannes Liechtenauer and Joachim Meyer.
Longsword Thursdays – Review of previous longsword class. Lots of drills including: partner drills, pad work, pell work, and Meyer square.
